Menston is located off the beautiful Wharfe Valley and at the foot of Ilkley Moor. It’s within easy reach of Leeds, Otley and Ilkley. Harrogate and Skipton are just some 13 miles away with their exclusive shops. The population of Menston is around 4,500 (2011 census).
Menston village boasts a wide range of local services and community facilities including convenience stores, a post office, a medical centre, dental surgeries, a pharmacy and ancillary health facilities including physiotherapy and chiropody.
There is an active Community Library within a substantial complex, called Kirklands, owned by a village trust. Kirklands has a large hall for social events. It also has meeting rooms for many groups that gather there regularly for social events, educational classes and health and fitness activities.
In addition the village has traditional pubs as well as modern clubs, Gastropubs, cafes, a bakery, take-aways, hair and beauty salons and a print shop. The recreational ground is a large open space in the heart of the village enjoyed by all age groups with marvellous views to the north of the village.
